Making Power Plays · Nine Weeks in One Read

The Catch-Up Issue

Special Edition · August 10 – October 9, 2026

I owe you an apology.

The last time this letter reached your inbox was August 16. PowerBurst never stopped. Thirty-nine mornings since then, 6 AM, every weekday, the room showed up and so did the Word. But the letter that's supposed to carry those mornings to you went quiet. No excuse. That's on me.

So this issue does two things. It hands you the best of nine weeks in one read: every series, the line that held it together, and the moments that landed hardest. And it makes you a promise about what happens from here.

The Real One · Aug 10–14

The Real One

Blockbuster Summer · Week 6

The summer finale. Elisha picks up a coat off the ground and finds out the power never belonged to the season. It belonged to God.

“The season that carried you ended. The power didn't.” (2 Kings 2:13–14)

“People who weren't there can tell where you've been.” (Acts 4:13)

“The era you were waiting on ended. The ground is yours.” (Joshua 1:2–3)

Spoiler Alert: The best scene hasn't happened yet.

When God Is Quiet · Aug 17–21

When God Is Quiet

The Unanswered · Week 1

PowerBurst changed shape. Every morning now starts with a question people actually type into their phone at 2 AM. The first one: why hasn't God answered me?

“You have been apologizing for a prayer God wrote down.” (Psalm 13)

“He didn't stay in spite of loving them. He stayed because of it.” (John 11:1–6)

“You asked for rain. He's building you feet.” (Habakkuk 3:17–19)

Silence is not absence.

Too Far Gone · Aug 24–28

Too Far Gone

The Unanswered · Week 2

The question under the question: not does God hear me, but am I still on the list? Five mornings on forgiveness, for the person who thinks they used it all up.

“You're not afraid God can't forgive you. You're afraid you've used it up.” (Psalm 51)

“If you're afraid you committed it, that fear is the evidence you didn't.” (Matthew 12:22–32)

“Peter denied Him beside a fire of coals. Jesus built another one and cooked.” (John 21:1–19)

“New every morning” is not poetry. It's a delivery schedule. (Lamentations 3:19–26)

Distance is not disqualification.

Four Standalones · Aug 31 – Sep 11

Four Standalones

Faith Raising · Late Summer

Four mornings that each stand on their own: anxiety, growing your faith, hearing God, and believing for a miracle.

“God said don't be afraid twice, then gave five reasons why.” (Isaiah 41:10)

“They asked Jesus for more faith. He answered them with a seed.” (Romans 10:17 · Luke 17:5–6)

“The word comes from behind you. You have to be walking first.” (Isaiah 30:20–21)

“Twelve years of getting worse. Then six words.” (Mark 5:25–34)

Faith says it before it sees it.

RECALIBRATE · Sep 14 – Oct 2

RECALIBRATE

15 days · The Restart · The Runway · The Consecration

Three weeks for anybody who drifted and figured they'd have to start over. You don't. You get back on track, you build a runway, and then you consecrate it, which walked us straight into the fast.

“He never said feel it again. He said go do what you did at first.” (Revelation 2:1–5)

“No wind. No rain. Fill the whole valley with ditches anyway.” (2 Kings 3:9–20)

“You're not weak. You're carrying a two-person load by yourself.” (Exodus 18:13–27)

“He goes out weeping and carrying seed. Both hands full. Same trip.” (Psalm 126)

“Jesus said “when ye fast.” Not if.” (Matthew 6:16–18)

“He fasted three full weeks. On the last day, somebody showed up and told him why it took so long.” (Daniel 10)

You don't need a new start. You need your next move.

On Repeat · Oct 5–9

On Repeat

Week 1 · Find It · Days 1–5 of the fast

OctoberFast began, and so did a series about the loops we keep running: the voices, the motions, the habits we go back to even after we've left them.

“He turned down the king's soldiers. Then he had to cross the desert with the gold.” (Ezra 8)

“One woman. Three people talking. Not one of them got it right.” (1 Samuel 1)

“You've been feeling Him and calling it something else.” (Luke 24:13–35)

“You've been trying to store up what only comes in the morning.” (Exodus 16)

Change what goes in. God changes what comes out.

Every Monday at noon. Starting Oct 19.

Here's the rhythm, and you can hold me to it.

Starting Monday, October 19, Making Power Plays lands every Monday at noon. One read that carries last week's five mornings, the ones you caught and the ones you missed. Same day. Same time. Every week.

If a Monday goes by and it doesn't show up, hit reply and tell me. I read every one.

You don't need a new start. You need your next move.
